अब्राहम लिंकन ने 24 वर्ष की आयु में दोबारा Business करने की सोची और एक स्टार्टअप शुरू किया लेकिन दुर्भाग्यवश उनका यह बिजनेस भी नहीं चल सका और उन्हें इसमें असफलता का सामना करना पड़ा.
Abraham Lincoln ने 29 वर्ष की आयु में एक बार फिर से चुनाव लड़ा. उनका यह चुनाव स्पीकर पद के लिए था लेकिन वह यह चुनाव हार गए और इसके बाद उन्होंने 31 वर्ष की आयु में इलेक्टर का चुनाव लड़ा लेकिन वह इसे भी हार गए.
उन्होंने 46 व 49 वर्ष की आयु में दो बार सीनेट का चुनाव लड़ा लेकिन दोनों बार चुनाव में उन्हें हार का सामना करना पड़ा.
लगातार चुनाव हारने के बाद भी Abraham Lincoln अंदर से नहीं टूटे और उन्होंने एक बार फिर चुनाव लड़ा और यह चुनाव अमेरिका के उपराष्ट्रपति पद के लिए था. लेकिन दुर्भाग्यवश उन्हें इस चुनाव में भी हार मिली.
लगातार असफलताओ के बाद, अब्राहम ने 51 वर्ष की आयु में अमेरिका के राष्ट्पति का चुनाव लड़ा और उन्हें इसमें जीत मिली और वे 6 नवम्बर,1860 के दिन अमेरिका के प्रेसिडेंट के रूप में निर्वाचित किये गए.
Lincoln ने वकालत में डिग्री लिए बिना ही लगभग 18 महीनों तक वकालत का अभ्यास किया था.
अब्राहम लिंकन की कद काठी पहलवान की तरह थी और उनके साथी उन्हें पहलवान कहकर ही पुकारते थे.

He helped create a national banking system which resulted in a standardized currency and a network of national banks. The acts, called the National Banking Acts of 1863 and 1864, established the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Lincoln created the Secret Service hours before his assassination.
He signed the Pacific Railroad Acts of 1862 and 1864, bills that chartered the first transcontinental railroad to be constructed from the San Francisco Bay to the end of the existing U.S. railroad at Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He kept fighting under extreme pressure during the Civil War until the Confederacy was defeated.

Death of his mother: Lincoln’s mother died from drinking poisoned milk. His father soon married another woman by the name Sarah Bush Johnston, who was a widow. She had a good relation with Abraham and he liked her company as well.
Lincoln did not have a middle name.
Lincoln also worked as a licensed bartender.
Lincoln was an avid hunter.

1865 में अपनी हत्या से कुछ घंटे पहले ही उन्होंने सीक्रेट सर्विसेज का गठन किया था.
उन्होंने थैंक्सगिविंग डे को राष्ट्रीय पर्व घोषित किया.
15 अप्रैल 1865 को उनकी मौत हो गई. एक कार्यक्रम में उन्हें गोली मार दी गई.
