Rajkummar Rao played a ladies tailor in the horror comedy Stree after stealing hearts as a sari salesman in Bareilly Ki Barfi. There was no other performer who could seem as convincing and engaging as Rajkummar, who recited an essay on mor (peacock) or discussed the services offered at his tailor store without pausing to regain his breath. Rajkummar established himself as a director's actor early on in his career. Shahid is based on the assassination of lawyer and human rights campaigner ShahidAzmi in 2010.
