Srinagar
It's one of the most popular vacation spots, and it's nothing short of a tropical paradise. There is so much to see and do here, with a history stretching back over 2000 years. There is never a dull moment in Srinagar, from indulging in delectable native food to visiting all of the city's key attractions.
Pahalgam
Pahalgam is surrounded by the Lidder River and the Betaab Valley and is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes and rivers. You may go river rafting at Lidder Lake and shop for traditional Kashmiri goods in the bazaar while you're here. With its old world beauty and modern accents, this place will transport you back in time. The city's big pine trees make for a spectacular sight in the morning, especially if you're staying near Lidder.
Kargil
Although it is best known as a battleground between India and Pakistan during the 1999 Kargil War, it has since evolved into a popular tourist attraction with historical value. In addition, because Kargil serves as a gateway to Leh, most travellers like to stop by and enjoy the region on their journey to Leh. There are numerous temples and monasteries worth visiting in this area.
Sonamarg
This location, also known as the Meadow of Gold, offers some of Kashmir's most beautiful views. Sonamarg is known as a King's Paradise because of its snow-capped mountains, lush grasslands, and gorgeous sceneries. You can participate in sports such as river rafting, zorbing, and trekking while you're here, all of which take place in the lovely surroundings.
Lake Pangong
During the month of January, Pangong Lake takes on a magnificent appearance. By the end of the month, the lake is totally frozen, and it stays that way until February. The Chang La Pass is the sole challenge on this route. You can choose to stay at Spangmik, Tangtse, or Merak for a day trip. Note that campgrounds are closed throughout the winter, so you'll have to select between a homestay in one of the communities.
Lamayuru
It's a little village in Ladakh, but it's a great place to stop on your way from Kargil to Leh. Legend has it that this location, which is home to one of Ladakh's oldest monasteries, was once a lake that dried up. This small little community is advertised as a'moonscape' for tourists because it has some incredible yet unusual geographical formations. It is known for its 'lunar' landscape and monastery.
Gulmarg
Gulmarg is known for having one of the world's largest ropeways, with a 4.5-kilometer aerial stretch. The views from the top, which are roughly 3979 metres above sea level, are simply breathtaking. At this time of year, snowfall is consistent, providing every visitor a fair chance to see the winter wonderland!
