When I left the Royal College, I decided

 I would only make paintings that I would

 want to look at myself, that felt close to my life.

I praise the Lord, the Sovereign of the royal realm,

 Who has extended his sway over the tract of the world.

I don’t hate you,
I just lost respect for you.

There is no royal road or ready way to virtue

Teaching is the royal road to learning.

I don't have a saviour or a royal family
